So when are you directing, Rana?

Not many know that Daggubati Rana's biggest wish is to direct movies. Many years back, in a TV interview, his grand father D Ramanaidu revealed the desire of his grand son Rana. We never heard back from either Rana's grand father or his father Suresh. The lad started an animation company and even worked for some films like Parugu in the meanwhile. But he was always behind the limelight and never yearned for media attention.

Everything changed for him when he was signed by Shekhar Kammula for his concept Leader. Long time associate Shekhar found Rana apt for the role and it was how the media-shy Rana burst open. Since, he has given some interviews in the media; but he says that he will be seen more once Leader hits the marquee (the film is releasing on December 24 and will clash with titans like Adurs and Rummy).

If the film becomes a hit, will Rana want to be seen more as an actor or will he want to turn director? Or, will he continue with acting like Siddhartha, who also ambitions direction, until time warrants him to direct?
