Snoop Dogg had to cancel his anticipated 30th anniversary shows of Doggystyle at the Hollywood Bowl on October 20 and 21 due to the strike in the entertainment industry. In a statement posted on Instagram, Snoop expressed his frustration by saying, "I'm really disappointed that I wasted my money."

This strike, initiated by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) on May 1, has become one of the largest walkouts since 1995. The writers are demanding treatment and appropriate compensation for their work. Adding to the complexity, this week saw another strike from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), resulting in a double strike, something unseen in over six decades.

Snoop Dogg's statement did not show solidarity with the striking workers. I also urged the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to come back to the negotiation table with a genuine proposal. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this strike situation, it was necessary to cancel these anniversary shows.
