The audio release of Shankar's Snehithudu was attended by Ram Charan, Dil Raju, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sharman Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, SJ Suryah and others, besides the film's leading team, including Vijay, Illeana, Gemini Kiran (producer), Sathyaraj, Sriram, and, not to forget, Shankar (director), who spoke at length.

The first audio CD was released on the hands of Charan, who handed it over to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The event was marked by interesting anecdotes shared by Shankar and Cherry.

Shankar said that he had watched 3 Idiots while shooting Robot in Pune. It did not take long for this top-class director to get immersed in the film in no time, and laugh and cry with the characters. As he came out, a thought came to his mind: I should tell this beautiful story to the South Indian audience. This made him take up his life's first remake movie.

The most popular South Indian director of our times urged the audience to come and watch the movie with an open mind, and not judge it on the basis of his previous films. "There are graphics and fighting sequences in this movie. There is a good story. We have incorporated a few songs, which were set to tune by Harris Jayraj. I feel fortunate to have worked with Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry garu (lyrics)", said Shankar, who said that it is only Vijay who comes to the sets on time, while Rajinikanth is the other actor. He said that he liked Telugu films a lot.

Charan recalled how he danced to the feverish Chiku Buku Raile number from Shankar's Gentleman to prove to his dad (Chiranjeevi) that he could dance well. He also seemed to regret that he declined the offer by the producer to reprise Aamir Khan's role in the South Indian remake. "I was the first one to watch this movie even before its release. The producers asked me to do the film in Telugu. I felt that only someone of Aamir Khan's stature can do this. I would not have said no had they told me that Shankar was going to direct the movie."

The film is slated to release soon.
