Lyricist Snehan has been known for writing many hit songs in Tamil, and has also acted in several movies like Yogi, Uyarthiru 420 etc. He was the runner up in the first season of the reality game show Bigg Boss Tamil, and shares a great bond with the host, actor Kamal Haasan.

Ever since Kamal Haasan launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam, Snehan had been supporting the actor and also contested the Lok Sabha elections at Sivaganga, and secured 5th place. Recently, during a film event he was questioned if he will shift to Rajnikanth's party once it is launched.

Snehan responded that he will not move to Rajnikanth's camp, and said Kamal Haasan is his most loved leader, he considers him an angel. He further added that he had contested elections from his party and will be behind as a member of the party, and will never leave him for anyone. Snehan is currently acting in a movie named Bommi Veeran.
