In an unexpected turn of events, Lyricist and politician, former Bigg Boss show contestant Snehan had been booked by the Thirumayam police for death by negligence, following the death of a man who was hit by Snehan's car.

As per reports, the police have booked Snehan under the following IPC sections - Section 304A (Causing death by negligence) and Section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way). Snehan's car hit the two wheeler when he was traveling on November 15 night from Pudukkottai towards Thirumayam.

The person hit was the 28 year old Arun Pandi, who was riding to Thirumayam from Saveriyarpuram and he suffered injuries following which he was taken to the Thirumayam government hospital. Arun was then shifted to a private hospital in Tiruchy where he passed away. Snehan is the youth wing secretary of Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam party.
