Kerala's popular snake-catcher Vava Suresh suffered snakebite from a pitviper. The incident happened on Thursday morning at Pathanapuram when he tried to catch a pit viper. Reportedly, the snake bit his right hand's middle finger. Suresh was rushed to Kollam Medical College and then shifted to Trivandrum Medical College. Reportedly, his situation is currently stable and recovering and is being advised to keep under observation for the next 72 hours.
"He has been administered anti-venom at the multi-disciplinary intensive care unit," said Hospital Superintendent Dr. M S Sharmad. Reportedly Suresh has a history of numerous snake bites in the past too. Suresh has rescued more than 50,000 snakes so far. He had recently announced his retirement from the snake rescue missions after he faced a lot of criticisms on social media.
