The song makes for a good club number even though the music is a bit hackneyed.  Ranjith's vocals have the quality of usual youthfulness.  The quality of lyrics grows on you if you pay close attention to them.

If you go by the way the song begins, that is like a lively Bollywoodian romantic, the rest of the song will catch you by surprise.  The melancholic mood that Selvaganesh's music induces is noteworthy.  The lyrics tell the hero's plight and loneliness in a very plain and simple language.  Vijay Prakash's vocals for this pensive song prove a novel choice.

Considering the singing talent that the song's credits boasts of, it is a bit of a let down.  While the song sounds like an irreverent folk number, Vanamali pens frivolous lines to the hilt.  Shankar Mahadevan lends a touch of ordinariness, while Sumitra Iyer's voice fits the bill.
