Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani on Wednesday said that she has tested positive for COVID-19. The BJP leader said that she was at a loss of words while making the announcement.
"It is rare for me to search for words while making an announcement; hence here’s me keeping it simple — I’ve tested positive for #COVID and would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest," she tweeted out.
When someone wrote that Smriti had said it with the aim of getting votes (Bihar elections are on), Irani wrote, "Mental mind not being kind."
In recent months, major political leaders like Amit Shah, BS Yeddyurappa, Nitin Gadkari, and Shivraj Singh Chauhan have recovered from the virus.
