Freida Pinto and her husband Cory Tran welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, on the same day as the latter’s birthday. Sharing first pictures of their newborn on social media, the couple revealed that they have named their son Rumi-Ray.

In a heartfelt note on the occasion of Cory’s and her son’s birthday, Freida Pinto wrote, “Happy Birthday Dada Cory! I celebrate you my husband, friend and partner in life. To see you become not just a Dad but Super-Dad makes me so emotional and fills me with joy. It also gives this sleep deprived Mama a break and you have no idea how much I appreciate that! I am so grateful and in love with how we do life together. Love you madly. Rumi-Ray you are one lucky boy!” The actress shared a couple of pictures of the baby alongside.

Freida Pinto and Cory Tran started dating in 2017 and got married in a private ceremony during the Covid-19 lockdown. The actress, who rose to fame with her 2008 Oscar-winning debut film Slumdog Millionaire, where she played the role of Latika, later went on to appear in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, among other movies.
