This can happen only in India! The child artists of the Oscar winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ have lost their homes thanks to Mumbai Civic Authorities for getting them on the streets. The authorities demolished more than 50 huts owing to the slum being unauthorized.

The pivotal child artist of ‘Slumdog Milliionaire’, Azhar has disclosed that a team from MCGM – the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai visited the slum in Garib Nagar last Thursday morning and ordered them to move out of their dwelling. The actor was noted as saying that they had no where to go, but were literally on the roads in the scorching sun.

Their things to have been destroyed or broken, the actor said amidst tears. With so many people associated with the film becoming rich, it is hard to believe the fate that has befallen Azhar. There were so many in Bollywood too who spoke for the film and supported it, we hope at least some good soul comes to their rescue and does them a little good.

While the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ made headlines throughout the globe the Chief Minister of the state had promised individual flats to child artists Azhar and Rubina, which have been delayed owing to the elections. With the election over now let’s hope the CM sticks to his words and brings solace to the kids’ lives.
