Kiran, wife of the slained Hindu activist Kamlesh Tiwari, has said that she will immolate herself if UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath doesn't meet her. Her husband, an ex-Hindu Mahasabha leader, was murdered by unknown assailants on Friday, in Lucknow.
"My husband was getting threatening phone calls every day. Yet the administration failed to protect him. We won't cremate him unless the Chief Minister comes to meet us. We want justice," Kiran said, crying inconsolably. She alleged that a Maulana is behind the murder.
As per an agency report, Tiwari's family members are demanding that the late Hindu leader's two sons be given government jobs.
There are reports that a Maulana, who had put a prize on Tiwari's head in 2017, has been arrested by the Gujarat ATS. A few more arrests of suspects is expected to happen. "Two suspects arrested in 2017 had revealed during interrogation that Tiwari was on their hit list," a report says.
