SJ Surya as AR Rahman?!

After a very long break in Kollywood, director and actor SJ Surya has decided a comeback which has already been the topic of controversy. His next film is about a music director challenged by a younger entry in the field. The gossip mills say that this is the story of Illayaraja and AR Rahman.
When asked about this, SJ Surya denied it and said that this film wasn't going to be about two specific people but about the general cycle that keeps happening in the industry where the new enters and competes with the legend. From KV Mahadevan to MS Viswanathan and Illayaraja to AR Rahman.
So the fact is, SJ Surya will not be portraying AR Rahman and nor will Prakash Raj be playing Illayaraja. SJ Surya is appearing as a music director and is also the music director for the film which is a first for him.
