Only recently the Pollachi gang rape and blackmail ring members Sabarirajan, Thirunavukkarasu, Vasanthakumar and Satheesh were arrested and are being grilled by the CBCID police. On March 25th it was Coimbatore's turn to undergo the tragedy of finding the body of six year old class two girl raped and murdered. The little girl had gone out to play in the neighborhood after school and did not return even after dark. The parents searched for several hours and then lodged a complaint to the police and only the next day the battered body was found.

Investigations revealed that the little one was brutally raped and was then suffocated to death. The police detained six people in connection with the case and its now reported that one Santhoshkumar of Thondamuthur in Coimbatore confessing to the heinous crime. Sources in the region are of the opinion that many shocking revelations have been made in the confession of Santhoshkumar.
