Tamil Nadu: 2 police stations closed after several policemen test positive for coronavirus

Six police personnel from the Podanur and Kuniamuthur areas of Coimbatore tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Following this, the two police stations in the city have been closed down.

The police personnel who tested positive are currently undergoing treatment at the ESI hospital in Coimbatore while the remaining staff had been shifted to private marriage halls. The 105 other police personnel took the coronavirus test, the results of which reportedly came back negative. The family members of all the cops have also been quarantined.

As on April 28, a total of 29687 cases have been registered across India and 940 people have died. Tamil Nadu has reported 1937 cases and 24 deaths.
