'Baahubali' is yet to even complete its shoot. But it's already creating waves in terms of being the technologically most-advanced Indian film ever, and even achieving certain feats which no film in the world has been able to.
A case in point is 'BB360cc', the 360 degree camera used to give a Virtual Reality experience of the movie's making. As per a national daily, the camera is "a combination of 24 high-end cameras rolled into one."
Guess what it cost the company AMD to make the camera? Rs. 10 cr!
Incidentally, this has been possible thanks to Rajamouli's cousin, Raja Koduri, Sr VP and Chief Architect of the AMD Radeon Technologies Group, an offshoot of AMD. “'Baahubali' is the first movie to be created using the camera. In fact, as soon as we built the camera, we took it to Hyderabad,” Raja has been quoted as saying by the national daily.
The camera, admittedly, is first-of-its-kind even considering those in Hollywood and the gaming industry. No wonder that as many as six Hollywood studios have been claimed to have urged the company to share the technology.
'The Sword Of Baahubali' will be available to audience in April, 2017 through VR Pods in malls and other venues throughout India!
