Veteran actor Sivakumar is known as a man of multiple talents. He almost quit acting since 2001 and has been exploring his other talents. He has written a few books and has made long duration discourses on Ramayana and Mahabharatha which has drawn many people towards these two epics.

The septuagenarian actor has also been an active user in social media and he has been writing on various topics in his official Facebook page. Recently he started writing a series of articles on leaders whose history needs to be passed on to today's youngsters. His articles describing the life and contributions of Periyar, Jhansi Rani, Velu Nachiyar, Muthu Vadugu, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan and M.R.Radha have received widespread 'likes' and 'shares'.

However, one such article about Dheeran Chinnamalai received abuse from hatemongers. They passed comments alleging that Sivakumar's article instigated caste supremacy sentiments and may lead to clashes between different castes. Some of them went overboard and started abusing Sivakumar and his family members including his son and leading actors Suriya and Karthi.

Shocked by such abuses, the senior actor has announced that he is quitting Facebook. In his final post making this announcement, he has said "I have never considered myself as a big achiever. I have been living a honest life and completed 70 years age. I wished to share what I know with people and that's why I took up writing. But I am sad that what I have written has instigated the caste feelings of some people. I also regret giving a chance for people to make personal abuses on me and my family. So I am putting an end to my Facebook posts with this."
