Veteran Actor Sivakumar is has committed himself to the admirable task of taking the great epics and religious works to the modern day youngsters through lively and discourses. The septuagenarian Markendayan` has been spending his time on voracious reading for preparing such discourses.

On Monday, Sivakumar narrated the great Indian epic Mahabharatham in 2 hours and 15 minutes at a Womens college in Erode which was extremely well received by the students. More importantly the thespian has dedicated two years of his life for making preparations to prepare and equip himself for this discourse.

A few years back, Siva Kumar has achieved a similar feat by narrating the great Indian epic Ramayanam (written by Kambar in Tamil) within the same duration at the same venue.

The family members of Sivakumar that include his wife Lakshmi, sons Suriya and Karthi, daughter –in-laws Jyothika and Ranjini who missed the live narration of Ramayanam which was later telecast in a private satellite channel, attended yesterday`s event and listened to the full Mahabharatham narration with extreme glee.

Incidentally Sivakumar has accomplished this humungous task on the eve of his 75th birthday. Today the Sivakumar family visited the Bala Thandayudhapani (Lord Muruga) Temple for a special pooja.
