Yesterday (June 27th) Sivakarthikeyan began the shooting of his next movie directed by Ravikumar and produced by 24 AM Studios. The as yet untitled SciFi film has music by A.R. Rahman and a ensemble cast that includes Rakul Preet Singh, Banupriya, Isha Gopikar, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu and Kothandam.

Later in the day the dubbing of Sivakarthikeyan's maiden production venture 'Kanaa' directed by Arunraja Kamaraj started with Sathyaraj and Darshan participating. The film has Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role as a woman cricketer.

Sivakarthikeyan has revealed the highly emotional reason for the twin beginnings on June 27th which happens to be his late dad's birthday. "Today,On Appa’s bday started my new film shoot and 'Kanaa' ‘s dubbing wit his blessings thanks to all the lovely people for wishing us..Spl thanks to my brothers and sisters for all the love.. love u all" is what the much loved hero had to say.
