Though Sivakarthikeyan clinched back to back success with 'Doctor' and 'Don', his last release 'Prince' failed to attract the audience and critics. The bilingual film, directed by Anudeep, performed very poorly at the box office. Reportedly, the distributor suffered a loss of Rs 12 crores due to Prince.
According to sources, the movie's producers and SK decided to reimburse 50 percent of the loss, Rs 6 crores, to the distributor. This gesture by Sivakarthikeyan won the praise of the fans and the actor has set an example again with his kind nature. Prince has reportedly grossed Rs 30 crores at the box office which is very less than his previous movies.
On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for 'Maaveeran', directed by the National Award-winning maker Madonne Ashwin. SK plays a cartoonist in this much-awaited movie with Aditi Shankar as the female lead and director Mysskin as the antagonist. The film is set to be released by March end.
