Sivakarthikeyan after delivering two back to back blockbuster hits 'Doctor' and 'Don' has completed shooting for 'Prince' directed by Anudeep which will hit the screens on Diwali this year. He has now started shooting for his new film 'Maaveeran' directed by Madonne Ashwin of 'Mandela' fame.

The current schedule is going on at a tenement near Chennai Central and scenes involving Sivakarthikeyan's family is being shot. Veteran actress Sarita is playing the hero's mother while popular YouTuber Monisha Blessy is apparently playing his younger sister.

Monisha Blessy became famous for her comedic performances in Black Sheep YouTube channel and later participated in 'Kalakka Povathu Yaaru Season 8' and was adjudged the runner up. She is also a very much followed celebrity on Instagram. 'Maaveeran' is her first foray in cinema and her fans say she is lucky to share screenspace with Sivakarthikeyan.

'Maaveeran' has music by Bharath Sankar, Vidhu Ayyanna is handling the camera, Philomin Raj the editing and is produced by Arun Viswa under the banner Shanthi Talkies. Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar are the lead pair with Mysskin as the chief antagonist.
