Sivakarthikeyan's new movie 'Maaveeran' went on floors today with a Pooja and the team welcomed director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar in the female lead. The film produced by Shanthi Talkies is directed by Madonne Ashwin of 'Mandela' fame. Already the interesting motion poster of the hero controlled by a puppeteer and standing tall even after being beaten up by goons went viral.
The 'Maaveeran' producer has officially announced that veteran actress Sarita is on board for an important role. The multiple award winning actress was a K. Balachander find in the Kamal Haasan starrer 'Maro Charithra' and later acted opposite all the stop stars of the seventies and eighties such as Sivaji Ganesan, Sivakumar, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohan, Vijayakanth and Sathyaraj.
Sarita last appeared in the Jyothika starrer 'June R' directed by Revathi S Varmha in which Suriya also played a guest role. She is also famous for playing Vijay's mother's role in 'Friends' (2001) that also had Suriya as the parallel lead.
