Sivakarthikeyan's 'Velaikkaran' directed by Mohan Raja has emerged as a clean winner at the box office maintaining its stronghold in the second big New Year holiday weekend after Christmas. Siva in a recent televised interview has revealed the major decisions he has taken after starring in the film and how the suicide of Sasikumar's cousin Ashok Kumar changed his thinking towards producers.
According to Sivakarthikeyan he had for long refused many ad films including a big brand soft drinks but after 'Velaikkaran' he has taken the decision never to act in one as he would not be able to check whether the products are authentic and because he did not want to influence his young fans.
Siva also revealed that the death of Ashok Kumar and his emotional suicide note left him in tears and he immediately called his producers and asked them to keep a check on the budget. He asserted that as far as he is concerned to reduce the burden of his bankrollers he accepts only minimum amount as advance and gets fully paid only after finishing the film. He also asserted that if the budget goes overboard he would reduce his salary. Great gesture indeed by young rising frontline star.
