Sivakarthikeyan is busily shooting for his ambitious film, 'Maaveeran', helmed by the National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin. The star actor is looking forward to making a comeback at the box office as his last release, 'Prince', failed to become a profitable venture.

Meanwhile, Maaveeran is surrounded by a lot of negativity and rumours on the internet. Earlier, there were reports that the film was shelved due to creative differences between SK and the director. The team clarified that the news was fake. Recently, speculations started popping up that the makers are going to reshoot the movie for 45 days as Sivakarthikeyan is not satisfied with the output.

The production house replied to the rumours last night in style with a Thirukkural about truth on social media. Sharing the Tamil lines, Shanthi Talkies wrote, "Baseless rumours and false news keeps on circulating online constantly about Maaveeran.. We request you to not believe them.. Team #Maaveeran is working progressively to deliver a memorable film.. #VeerameJeyam" (sic). The tweet is going viral now.

Aditi Shankar plays the female lead while Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist in this movie. Director and actor Mysskin is playing the villain role with veteran actress Saritha will be seen as SK's mom. Telugu actor Sunil and Yogi Babu are also acting in key roles. With music by Bharath Shankar, Maveeran is planning for a theatrical release in June 2023.
