The DMK government laid the statue of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan at the Commissioner Office junction on the Marina beach road. One Nagarajan had filed a case in the High Court to remove the statue as it hindered free traffic flow on the busy road and it was ordered that the structure should be removed by May 18th.

The case came up for hearing and the TN Government assured that the court orders will be followed and the statue will be shifter to another place and later be housed in a Manimandapam that is being built near Adayar. The court after the assurance has closed the case filed by Nagarajan.
