Though his role in 'Marina' was a brief one, small screen star Siva Karthikeyan has been receiving accolades for his decent performance. The actor, who is now shooting for Ezhil's 'Manamkothi Paravai', has signed a new project, sources say.

"Siva Karthikeyan will play the lead role Shakthi Chidambaram's Machchan. Dhanshika of ‘Peranmai’ and ‘Maanja Velu’ fame will be the heroine of this film, which will hit the floors soon," sources say.

"Machchan will be a typical Shakthi Chidambaram kind of entertainer with comedy, romance and action," sources say and add: "For the first time, Siva Karthikeyan will have to perform some risky stunt sequences in this film."

In the meantime, Ezhil, who is busy with 'Manamkothi Paravai', says, "It is a romantic entertainer filled with humour. Siva Karthikeyan is a right pick to the role and I believe this film will be a turning point to his acting career."
