2018 witnessed the release of Badhaai Ho, directed by Amit Sharma and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles, and the movie was set at the backdrop of an aged couple getting pregnant, much to the shock of their adult son, the comic and emotional situations that happen later.

Though the theme might sound unique, way back in 1994 itself Malayalam film industry has touched this subject, albeit in an emotional setup, in Pavithram. Directed by TK Rajeev Kumar, the movie that starred Mohanlal, Shobhana,Srividya and Thilakan, and was a critically acclaimed success.

Now the latest buzz is that, there's a Tamil remake of Pavithram on cards, as the makers are encouraged by the success of Badhaai Ho, and they're keen to cast either Siva Karthikeyan or Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Besides, a Telugu remake is also planned, and the official details will be out soon.
