A Vishal Chandrasekhar Musical

In this section, we are going to review the songs from 'Sita Ramam', a Sony Music South album.

Inthandham

Singer: SP Charan

Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

The Maestro Ilaiyaraaja inspiration is obvious. 'Ville ekkupetti mello thaalikatti' is a deliberate mythological reference, given the title of the movie. Krishna Kanth's lyrics hint at an attempt to build mystique and sacredness around the love story. SP Charan, who sang the first song as well, enriches the melodious and old-world charm of the song. The chorus by the kids makes the song unmistakably inspired. The picturization is beautiful in keeping with the title of the song.

A Vishal Chandrasekhar Musical

Oh Sita Hey Rama

Singers: SP Charan, Ramya Behara

Lyricist: Ananth Sriram

The initial notes of the song remind us of 'Aamani Unte' from the recent 'Dear Megha'. Later on, the song assumes its own uniqueness. The composition has been deliberately made to let the listener rejoice in the Ilaiyaraaja-era nostalgia. SP Charan's vocals only enhance the old-world charm of the melody. Ramya Behara's soft vocals sit pretty with the song's mood; through her voice, the notes become something like flowers, much like what Ananth Sriram's poetic lines say about the heroine's lilting steps. Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur seem to have aced the expressions, thanks to choreographer Brinda.
