Today is the birthday of director Siva, popularly known as 'Siruthai' Siva.
Siva made his film debut in as the cinematographer of the super hit Tamil film 'Charlie Chaplin'. Then he moved to Tollywood and made it big as a cinematographer and a director. His directorial debut is the super hit flick 'Souryam' starring Gopichand and Anushka.
Within a few years, he made a reentry in Tamil, as the director of 'Siruthai' the remake the Telugu blockbuster 'Vikramarkudu'. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and an important film in the career graph of its lead actor Karthi. The film had a good mixture of romance. comedy, action, sentiment and glamour and attracted all sections of audiences.
The success of the film got him the opportunity to direct Ajith at a very early stage of his career, in the film 'Veeram' produced by the prestigious Sri Vijaya Productions banner. In this film, he projected Ajith as a white veshti-shirt clad village man after people got used to see him in ultra modern urban costumes in many films. This time Siva delivered a bigger success with 'Vedalam' which brilliantly capitalized the mass image of Ajith and also had the sister sentiment angle in the right proportion which made it a 'family favourite'.
Now Siva has teamed up with Ajith for the third time and has started shooting for 'AK 57, an undeniable proof that he has become the most favorite director of the much-loved star. This time, the duo have taken up the international spy thriller genre. We can be sure that Siva is in the process of making another blockbuster.
