A few days Indiaglitz had reported director Siruthai Siva saying that Thala Ajith will be appearing in a never before seen role in 'Vedalam' which will be hitting the screens as a Deepavali attraction.

Now the 'Veeram' director in his recent interview to a popular Tamil weekly has revealed more details about Ajith's character in the film. Siva has said that Ajith plays a phantom like character inspired by the ones coming in Muthu Comics and other popular Tamil comics of the bygone era. A lead characters in a popular Tamil comics was named as Vedalan. When Siva was discussing these things, Ajith suggested that 'Vedalam' can be the title of the film and that's how the title of the film emerged.

'Vedalam' starring Ajith, Shruthi Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Soori and many others in important roles has been produced by A.M.Ratnam. Music has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander and the songs are already topping the charts.
