'Sirivantha' is spectacular because of its contents and portrayal of all the characters in the film is convincing. Dr.Vishnu, Shruthi and Doddanna share the top honors for their heart touching performance.

This is the truth of today. It is the ambition of all common people to know how he is treated after death. That opportunity is of course available only in cinema. That is what the protagonist Narayanamurthy ( Dr.Vishnuvardhana) aspire when the lieutenants of Yamadharmaraya come to take him.

This is a high voltage emotional drama. The last twenty minutes - the protagonist who is dead is about to be laid to rest the truth surfacing before our eyes of the fate of a loyal father makes you to pick your handkerchiefs. This is the point where the Rockline Venkatesh productions team grabs the attention of the masses.

Coming to the story - A famous journalist Narayanamurthy married to Lakshmi and having a girl and two boys in his family is loyal and Gandhian to the extreme. He divides his monthly salary equally for his family and social work. Editor of 'Mithravani' newspaper is ready to become pauper. He is ready to forego the happiness of his family but not the people in the society. In that way he is Dhanashoora Karna and Satya Harischandra. This is what irks the children as they grow. The grown up children demand a few lakhs. They question the father in all possible ways and goes to the extreme of using his name in the public to raise funds for their means. At this point of time Dhanashoora Karna - Narayanamurthy begs for money with his friends and money lender. He gives this money to his children on a condition that they should become very good. Money takes the prominent place but not the morality is what extremely hurts Narayanamurthy. He decides to end his life. Accidentally the eye doctors who come to take his eyes find a letter in a dustbin that explains Narayanamurthy has committed suicide.

Now the packed melodrama starts wetting your handkerchiefs. Even before the final rites the children run away from the house because the money lenders may ask for the refund of the money. The people in the society Narayanamurthy helped lift his body for the final rite. The missing sons finally surface that further heightens the melodrama. The money lender Doddaiah turns harsh at this point and does not allow the sons of Narayanamurthy to light the pyre. Finally Doddaiah open up his mind and tells why he has been so harsh at this stage. That is the message the masses get.

It is only actor like Dr.Vishnuvardhana can do justice to this kind of role. Dr.Vishnu reciting the preaching of saints and scholars focusing on the morality not the money that is important has given a noteworthy performance. Shruthi as the perfect wife sometime supporting the children is the perfect mother on screen. Doddanna deserves a few awards for his fantastic performance.

Songs could have been better in this film. Technically it deserved to be good. The background score sometime spoils the mood and it is difficult to hear the dialogues. Cinematography by Das is impressive.

This is a well made film for the family and reformation in the society is possible from this type of film.

Scoring - 7/10
