'SIR' is all set to hit the screens on February 17. 'Vaathi' is its Tamil title. Sithara Entertainments unveiled its trailer a while ago.
We see the trailer begin with visuals of a touring talkies that was established in 1948. The scene shifts to the present when Tripathi Educational Institutions is shown. The drama shifts to a village where the titular character, played by Dhanush, has been despatched to offer his teaching services to poor kids in an adopted school. There, the film takes the form of a light rom-com with the entry of a female teacher played by Samyuktha Menon.
In a world with poor kids who aspire to higher education but don't find it accessible, Dhanush and Samyuktha are the only idealistic characters. The rest of the bunch, led by the characters played by Samuthirakani and Sai Kumar, are cynical, sinister and villainous.
With music by GV Prakash Kumar, the film has got Hyper Aadi in a comical role. Tanikella Bharani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Motta Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi, and Praveena are part of the cast.
The film is a bilingual shot separately in Telugu and Tamil.
