'SIR' raises an important social point: Makers

Speaking at the pre-release event of 'SIR', Dhanush said that he is nervous ahead of the theatrical release of his debut Telugu movie, 'SIR', which hits the screens this Friday. He said that the performances and story of the movie might be simple but the message is a grand one.
"We have done a meaningful film and it connects with all," the 'Thiruchitrabalam' actor said, topping his speech with a rendition of the song 'Maastaru' from the movie. It is shot on him and the heroine, Samyuktha Menon.
One of the producers of the film is Trivikram, who paid a tribute to all teachers out there. Dhanush is playing a school teacher in the movie and thus the salute to teachers. The SSMB28 maker described education and health as basic amenities. He suggested the director Venky Atluri's movie is relevant, raising questions about the lack of affordability of education among the poor. Trivikram described Dhanush as a karma yogi who enjoys his work and moves ahead with his best efforts.
Samyuktha Menon, who was last year seen in 'Bheemla Nayak', is the film's heroine. She described 'Maastaru' as her favorite song. She added that she is lucky to have got to act opposite Dhanush.
Producer S Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments expressed confidence. He said that the tickets for Thursday's paid premiers are getting sold out thick and fast.
Director Venky Atluri said that the film will last four weeks at minimum in Telugu and eight weeks at minimum in Tamil Nadu.
Hyper Aadhi, who plays Dhanush's sidekick in the movie likened 'SIR' to a complete meal. His speech was laced with his style of humour. The spectators at People's Plaza in Hyderabad greeted him with cheers
Samuthirakani and Sai Kumar, who have negative roles in the movie, also made it to the event. The former thanked Dhanush for showing him a new path in terms of a new direction for his acting career. 'Dialogue King' Sai Kumar said that 2023 happens to be his 50th year in acting. He thanked his mentors and parents on the occasion.
Music director Thaman suggested that the 'Tholi Prema' director is going to enjoy a raised stature after the movie.
