As the old time creators of money spinners ordered Rohit Shetty while satisfying the audience with dopes of boom boom action, he also refreshes the audience with a fine lighter moments coming from Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Normally ladies in such genre are just brought in for decoration and song sequences but over here Kareena Kapoor Khan provides good smiles and has a meatier role.
A B-town potential blockbuster revolving around corrupt politicians and system but still no item number in the film..? well only Rohit Shetty can do that.. Rohit Shetty easily manages to skip item numbers in such genres without any danger to the movie’s prospects and making it suitable for a family outing is not a mean achievement.
Technicalities are excellent. Dudley's camera captures Mumbai marvelously; the aerial shots are eye pleasing.
The action sequences are a highlight choreographed by Rohit Shetty with Jai Singh Nijjar and Suniel Rodrigues, the action is a raw and edgy treat for action lovers. Steven H. Bernard editing is fantastic especially during the action sequence.
‘Singham’ is Ajay Devgn’s most savored character at the box office. Born to play such roles Ajay Devgn in ‘Singham Returns’ adds ‘brawny’ points to his distinguish career as an actor with great versatility and intensity. Ajay is top notch, in complete command, pleasing the gallery from first frame to the last the b-town actor with the most expressive eyes gives a ‘blockbuster’, ‘winning’ full paisa vasool’ performance.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is a pleasant surprise. Looking gorgeous in those salvar kameez, the actress teases all the way long with her impeccable comic timing at par with Jab We Met, Golmaal entertaining the audience and providing them with the much needed smile.
Amole Gupte as Swamiji is wickedly vivacious villain in such genres must be able to successfully registered hate amongst the audience and Amol Gupte does a commendable job.
Other cast chips in with some valuable support starting with Mahesh Manjrekar who is fine. Anupam Kher is excellent. Zakir Hussain is fantastic. Sharat Saxena is good as the police Commissioner. The small tube CID sensation Dayanand Shetty is marvelous doing exactly what is expected from him.
Ashwini Kalsekar leaves her mark in her role designed on popular TV reporter. Yo Yo Honey Singh's 'Aata Majhi Satakli' coming at the end of the movie is foot tapping.
What not
It carries the same cliché complains a commercial masala massy entertainer from bollywood has. Having an easy going, escapist, unrealistic solution to the country’s problem. Scripting the movie at convenience and will.
