On May 14, a Haryana singer named Sangeeta alias Divya went missing. Her parents lodged a police complaint and it was suspected that the woman may have been abducted. Nearly two weeks later, the singer has been found dead.

As per national media reports, Sangeeta's mutilated body has been found buried by a highway in Rohtak district of Haryana.

So far, two persons have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder. Anil and Rohit, who were associated with her on the pretext of making a music video, had reportedly taken her with them to Haryana. The two accused persons have disclosed that they hatched a conspiracy to kill Sangeeta, the police have said.

"Sangeeta was missing since May 11. Delhi Police has arrested accused Anil, who's on a 5-day remand. After post-mortem, the case will be transferred to Delhi Police. Prima facie, the cause of death seems to be strangulation," ANI has quoted the police as saying.
