A day ago, popular singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi called off her wedding with Santhosh as he had forced her to quit music career for marriage. Post her break up, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi says that she is much relieved now and that she has greater things to do in her life. "It was my decision to call off the wedding and I will never regret it," said Vijayalakshmi in a recent interview to a popular news daily.

Before the engagement, Santhosh had agreed on a few things, especially that he would let her continue singing post wedding. But later his attitude changed and forced her to stop going to music concerts. He wanted her to find a job as a music teacher as she would get a pension after retirement. However, Vijayalakshmi was not deterred, she decided to break it off as she considers music over marriage.

Vijalayakashmi who is now single again is currently pursuing her MA Music degree in correspondence and is also gearing up for a number upcoming projects and concerts across the globe.
