Popular singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi who was engaged to Santhosh last year called off her wedding, which was scheduled to be held on March 29th. "Yes, we have canceled the wedding. It is better to say 'No' in the beginning than regretting later," told Vijayalakshmi's dad to media. He also clarified that the decision was taken by Vijayalakshmi who is ambitious about her career.

Reportedly, Santhosh forced the versatile singer to quit her singing career and restrict herself to a music teacher at a school. Also, Santhosh who had earlier agreed to stay at Vijayalakshmi's house after marriage recently changed his mind and refused to do so. This sudden change in Santhosh's attitude has reportedly lead Vaikom Vijayalakshmi to call off her marriage.
