Singer and TV host Aditya Narayan responded to the controversy surrounding his recent concert, where he was captured tossing away a fan's phone. The incident occurred at Rungta R2 College in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Addressing the issue briefly to Zoom Entertainment, Aditya remarked, "Honestly, no comments. I am answerable to the Almighty. That’s all.”
During the event, a video clip of Aditya singing "Aaj Ki Raat" from the film Don circulated widely on social media. In the footage, he paused during his performance to interact with a fan in the audience. Subsequently, he attempted to take the person's phone, and when unsuccessful, he appeared to become agitated. He then confiscated the phone and tossed it into the crowd.
The video sparked criticism against Aditya on social media platforms. The event manager asserted that the individual involved was not a student of the college and suggested that Aditya reacted due to incessant disruptions. The unnamed manager informed Zoom in another interview, "That boy was not even a college student, he must be someone from outside the college. He was constantly dragging Aditya's feet nonstop. He was very irritating. He banged his phone on Aditya's feet multiple times. After that only did he lose his cool."
The manager further defended Aditya's actions, stating that the concert proceeded smoothly after the incident. He also emphasized the need for the full context to be considered before passing judgement.
