Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who battled Coronavirus for more than two months, passed away on September 25, after a cardio respiratory arrest, and his unexpected death had come across as a shocker for the whole industry.
Many celebrities have been expressing their condolences and now singer S Janaki, who treated SPB as her brother and shared a great bond with him besides singing numerous superhit songs with him has released an emotional video.
In the video, S Janaki says ""Subrahmanyam, as I call SP Balasubrahmanyam, I met him first in Gudur near Nellore, when I was invited to present prizes in a singing competition, and SPB who won a prize sang excellently in his original voice - the voice which was gifted by God to him, without imitating others. I blessed and told he'll shine in films, and after he came to Madras too whenever he got a stage he talked about me. We bless a lot of people but not everyone shines. But SPB had talent and the blessings of God, and luck, and it had nothing to do with my blessings, but he'll always honor me. We don't have a count of the number of songs we sang together and almost daily we met. We'll fight, reunite during recordings and played with music, competed with each other and sang songs to see who sings best. Before three months he came to Mysore for a program, and he came to my house on the first day, spoke with me and my son, and had food with us. Coincidentally my last program was in Mysore and his last program was also in Mysore. I've sung in his music and he sung in my music and private performances too. We were more than just co-singers and were friendly, and he was one in our family. In the end he went to Hyderabad and got unwell, and was admitted to hospital for 51 days and struggled a lot. Wonder how much the child struggled, and in the end he left us. We expected he'll comeback but it didn't happen, what to do, he's one with God now. His soul must rest in peace and I express my condolences to his family and they all must be good and not worry, and I pray for them".
