Chinmayi has been a renowned playback singer, dubbing artist and television presenter in the Tamil industry for years. But she was sidelined on the professional front after she opened up against lyricist Vairamuthu in the 'Me Too' issue. Now, Chinmayi has thanked director Lokesh Kanagaraj for using her voice in Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo'.
Chinmayi took to X and wrote, "I am a million times grateful to Mr Lokesh Kanagaraj and Mr Lalit for having taken this stand. THAT. IS. MY. VOICE. IN. LEO. FOR. TRISHA. And guess what? I have dubbed in Tamil, Telugu AND Kannada. #Badass" (sic). She is lending her voice in Tamil after a long time in Leo and has also dubbed in Telugu and Kannada.
Notably, Isai Puyal AR Rahman used her as a playback singer last year in the Telugu version of 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu'. Chinmayi's tweet is now doing rounds on the internet. Fans are appreciating director Lokesh and producer Lalit for their righteous gesture. Leo starring Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun and others is coming to cinemas on October 19. It has music by Anirudh.
