The Singampatti Zamin Raja Murugadoss Theerthapathi passed away this morning aged 92 due to age-related illness. He was India's last feudal king who was crowned when he was just three years old after the passing away of his father. In independent India the Zamin system was abolished and the properties of the zamindars were confiscated and thus Murugadoss Theerthapathi has the distinction of being the last king in India. He was a hunter in his early days but later turned honorary forest conservator and served for three terms. He was much loved by the people of Singampatti in the Tenkasi district where many are mourning his passing away.

Sivakarthikeyan has passed a condolence message on his social media in Tamil "I am forever proud of playing Singampatti Seemaraja (in the movie Seemaraja). My condolences to the family and the people of Singampatti who are grieving his loss." Siva also posted a pic in which he is seen with the late king along with Soori.
