Simu Liu, dogged by health issues, was forced to withdraw from Disney World's 2023 Candlelight Processional. The Barbie actor made an admission about the "health dramas" that saw him back out of the celebratory event.
Apologizing for the inconveniences, Liu conveyed through an Instagram Story that the health of him and his family was more fundamental. Later on, he explains that, due to undisclosed medical reasons, he opted to stay home instead, a move that disappointed the 34-year-old star.
Liu felt downcast about the whole situation and hopes to come back within the following year for narration at the EPCOT Christmas event. He expressed his hopes for a comeback by 2024 with good spirit.
Liu was coming back from a recent Achilles tendon tear where he had hurt himself while at a sports event in Miami and had surgery for it. Even with the cast and crutches as help, he himself would admit the aid his friends gave him in providing support during that road trip home.
While nursing the injury, Liu found a little joy in celebrating Thanksgiving with a nod to his "functional era," which documented the moments in the kitchen with girlfriend Allison Hsu. Heartwarming photos featured their holiday spirit, including the soup dumplings being enjoyed by the family from this preparation.
