During the nineties the two most sought after heroines in Tamil cinema were Simran and Jyothika who both had many memorable films with top stars like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Prashanth, Madhavan and others. The two beauties co-starred in Thala's Vaali'directed by S.J Suriya and both of them cut down on acting assignments at much the same time.

This year Jyothika made a grand comeback as heroine in '36 Vayadhinile' produced by her husband Suriya and Simran is following suit by playing the protagonist in a women centric film to be produced by her husband Deepak Bagga and directed by ad filmmaker Gowri Shankar. Simran is playing the heroine after ten years and we wish the talented actress the very best.
