That Simran plays the role of Suriya’s mother in Gautham Menon’s ‘Varanam Aayiram’ is old news. The latest one is that she appears as an old woman in a scene.

The flashback scene has Simran sporting the old lady look perfectly, thanks to the amazing make-up. Suriya comes in different get ups in the film and Simran plays the wife of aged Suriya.

Though Simran doesn’t play the lead role, she has been given a powerful role in which she could show her histrionic skills. Sameera Reddy and Divya Spandana play the female lead roles.

Simran, who also has a song in ‘Varanam Aayiram’, is said to have requested the unit not to release the still showing her as an old lady.
