Actor Simbu had last acted in the family entertainer Vanthaa rajavathaan Varuven directed by Sundar.C, and the movie did not work well at the box office. Since then the actor had been on a fitness program, and returned recently from London, sporting a fit and handsome look for his brother's wedding.

Even as the actor is expected to join hands with Venkat Prabhu for the political entertainer Maanaadu produced by Suresh Kamatchi, and the multistarrer movie directed by debutant Narthan and costarring Gautham Karthik for Studio Green, an interesting news is making rounds in Kollywood.

Speculations are that director VZ Durai has narrated a story, which will be the sequel to their 2005 flick Thotti Jaya, and reportedly Simbu has given his nod for the script of Thotti Jaya 2. Thotti Jaya was a movie that gave an image makeover for Simbu in a new look and character after a number of carefree youngster roles, and it is to be seen if this sequel gets announced soon.
