Simbu's new movie 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadhu' went on floors recently and is happening in Thiruchendur in Tamil Nadu. Photos of Simbu in almost schoolboyish young look and Radhika Sarathkumar went viral. Since Jeyamohan is the writer of the film there is talk on social media that the subject would be similar to the writer's latest film 'Asuran' directed by Vetrimaaran and starring Dhanush.

Jeyamohan has clarified on his social media pages that Gautham Menon initially wanted to direct a soft urban romantic film 'Nadhigalile Neeradum Sooryan' but after the new idea broke out he pushed the project for the future. The team then decided on a fresh story and the title 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' was chosen.

Jeyamohan has further added that Simbu slimmed down further for the role in 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' and has fit perfectly into an intense role. He dismissed the rumours that it is a village subject like 'Asuran' and 'Karnan' though there is a prominent sequence set in a village. He preferred to call it a rustic thriller that will have Gautham Menon's strong signature touch and assured that it will no resemble any other film.
