Simbu's diehard fans who had been waiting for their idol to rise for many years cheered when 'Maanaadu' was announced on July 10th 2018 with Venkat Prabhu directing Suresh Kamachi producing. Since then Kalyani Priyadarshan and Yuvan Shankar Raja were added as the lead heroine and music composer respectively and other big stars were also signed. However shooting never started as planned and in February 2019 the producer revealed that Simbu is off to London for a short break and will come back and start his film but that also never came to fruition. Again in May this year it was said that the film would take off but never did and a frustrated Suresh Kamachi announced on August 7th that Simbu has been removed from the project and will soon resume the film with another star.
Now after a couple of months of debate a meeting was held in the Producers Council presided by Sathyajyothi Thiagarajan, Sivasakthi Pandian, K. Rajan, K. Balu and JSK Sathish. Simbu's mother Usha Rajendhar attended on behalf of her son she was reportedly involved in heated arguments with Suresh Kamachi. Usha maintained that Simbu allotted dates but it was the production side that did not utilize it properly while the other side held that the controversial star received the advance money of rupees two crores and never gave dates.
In the end our sources revealed that an amicable solution has been arrived at and Usha Rajendhar has guaranteed that Simbu will attend shooting of 'Maanaadu' regularly between 10 am and 6pm. It is also said that a new agreement is being drafted by Thiagarajan and once Suresh Kamachi and Simbu sign it the film will take off at once. Venkat Prabhu has already informed the council that he is ready to resume the film if Simbu co-operates. Looks like Simbu fans are in for some good news soon and his much awaited combo with VP is very much on.
