Simbu to act in remake of 2020's most critically acclaimed blockbuster?

Simbu seems to be on a roll during this coronavirus imposed lockdown as more and more filmmakers are turning towards him for their upcoming movies. Apart from 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu the young superstar is reportedly in talks to revive the 'Mufti' Tamil remake with Gautham Karthick, a film with Mysskin costarring Shruti Haasan and Vadivelu and a couple more projects with top directors.
Now the buzz in Kollywood is that Simbu has been approached to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed blockbuster hit Malayalam film 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'. Prithviraj played the role and it is of an arrogant ex-military man who gets involved in a one-upmanship game with a cop played by Biju Menon.
We already brought to you the news that director Sachy who helmed the original passed away recently and in an interview before that he had expressed his desire to see Parthiban in the role played by Biju Menon in the original.
Now coming to a couple of days ago Parthiban made a cryptic announcement that soon he and Simbu would join together for a storm of a movie. Read : Parthiban hints at a stormy new project with Simbu
Adding two and two together Kollywood analysts are now opining that Simbu and Parthiban could very well team up for the Tamil remake of 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' which is bankrolled by producer Five Star Kathiresan. We will have to however wait for the official confirmation on this one.
