It is common knowledge that Simbu is currently enjoying the peak of his career as his comeback film 'Maanadu' becomes the highest grosser in his filmography by collecting around Rs 117 crores worldwide with high ratings from the critics.

The versatile actor will be next seen in Gautham Menon's 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu', with music by AR Rahman. The film's shooting was wrapped up a couple of months ago and the post-production works are underway. Now, the latest we hear is that the team is aiming for a solo release in theatres.

According to some reliable sources, Vels Films International is planning a grand theatrical release for the most awaited 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' on August 18 (Thursday). An official confirmation is expected in this regard. Touted to be a rustic thriller, the film is based on a youngster who takes up a labour job in Mumbai to financially support his family.

'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' stars Siddhi Idnani as the female lead while Raadhika Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav and Aangelina Abraham play supporting roles. The movie is written by Jeyamohan and the lyrics are penned by Thamarai.
