Simbu after making a grand comeback with Venkat Prabhu's 'Maanaadu' followed it up with critically acclaimed performance in GVM's 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu'. Now he has been in intense martial arts and physical training to prepare for his new movie 'STR 48'.

Produced by Kamal Haasan, 'STR 48' is directed by Desingh Periyasamy of 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal' fame. Though the project was announced a few months back Simbu fans are restless as to when the film will go on floors. Recently producer Ishari Ganesh also complained to the Producers Council that Simbu should complete a film for him before moving on to another project as per their prior agreement. However now it is sorted out and Simbu has promised 'STR 49' for Ishari Ganesh which could be directed by Karthik Thangavel of 'Adanga Maru' fame. Now coming back to 'STR 48' there is a red hot news that is going viral that has made Simbu fans super happy.

Director Elan of 'Prema Pyaar Kadhal' has tweeted a photo with Desingh Periyasamy and director Sathish Selvakumar and captioned it "Guess which movie we are discussing for?". Since chances of it being 'STR 48' is the most likely it has made Simbu fans rejoice as a team of directors has joined hands for the screenplay. It is now highly likely that we can get an official update on when the film goes on floors sooner rather than later.
