Simbu made headlines when he claimed in a press meet that the Kannadiga people will give water to Tamils if we request them and it is the politicians who are making the Cauvery an issue.  People did respond to the 'AAA' actor by many Kannadigas giving a glass of water to their Tamil neighbours as a token and STR was hailed by the Karnataka newspapers.

As a next step Simbu has agreed to sing a song in a new movie 'Iruvudellava Bittu' directed by Kantha Kanalli, starring Tilak ,Shri Mahadev and Meghna Raj in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Devaraj under the banner Bilwa Creations.

Simbu meanwhile will soon rejoin the shoot of Mani Ratnam's multistarrer 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' in which he shares screen space with Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Jyothika.
